"50 FENGSHUI TIPS FOR YOU part 1"

1) Always sleep with your bed against a flat wall to give support from family members and to have a good sleep. It applies to you, your parents as well as young children about 12 years old onwards. For very young children (under 12) it is not necessary.

2) If you walk into your flat and it immediately faces the balcony or a row of windows, please cover the windows with curtains to keep the chi in your house instead of allowing the chi to flow into your house and then flow out through the balcony or windows. The chi once it hits the curtains will turn and flow to the other parts of your house.

3) You should always allow chi to circulate in your house.

4) One cannot do the fengshui of a ship as a ship has no facing direction and no sitting direction. The same applies to cars and aeroplanes.

5) Do not allow small children to sleep on mattresses that are placed on the floor. Yes, this will prevent small children from falling off the bed but it also causes frequent sickness in young children. The cure is to use a king size metal or wooden bed that has space beneath and buy "guards" to prevent children from falling off the bed. This will save you plenty of time and money away from the Doctors.

6) If your "Four Pillars of Destiny" (a system of life reading based on your birthday and time of birth) says you need water, then wearing pearls, blue, black and grey colours will bring you good luck.

7) It is alright to buy houses that is very dark (too much yin energy) but you will have to renovate the house to bring in more light into the house. But before that purchase, it is always best to buy a good fengshui house.

8) You may also want to change the age of the house by opening up your roofs for some time to allow chi to pass in from the Universe into your house. The reason is the age of a house is the day of the house was built and occupied. So the older the house, the chi would have been all used up. Hence new chi is required to bring you good luck and prosperity.

9) If you own a restaurant and do not wish customers to sit there for too long to eat and to chat, then install two huge mirrors (about 3 ft in length each) above the ground. The reason is mirrors reflect light but they attract chi. Hence a mirror that is placed anywhere will make you feel uncomfortable that you do not wish to sit there for too long whether to eat, or to study. A mirror is used by fengshui masters to speed up chi. And mirrors opposite your dinning tables do not double your rice bowls. They make you feel uncomfortable.

10) If your favourable direction is North then you can sleep with your toes pointing North and the head pointing at the South. Why is that so? Because when you wake up, you will be actually facing your favourable direction isn't it ? (You may also wish to follow your Kua number if you do not know your favourable direction.) (Kua number is another form of arriving at your favourable direction).

11) Always place a few writing tables in any part of your homes for your children to study. Children studies best at anywhere they can concentrate better. So sometimes it is your master bedroom or even in the living room or kitchen. Allow them to go there to study and never insist that they must always study at your "designated" study table for them. This is because the energies there may not be good for them to concentrate so why waste your time and effort when they cannot concentrate there ? Let them choose where they want to study. That way it will be both fruitful for you and your kid.

12) In your office, you should always sit with a solid wall behind your back to give support from bosses, colleagues and friends. If you do not wish your managers to overpower you, then do not give him a solid wall behind his desk.

13) Do not complain all the time as you will be creating "sha chi" (negative energy).

14) Do not sleep with the toilet door directly opposite your bed. It is very bad for health.

15) You should always walk with confident and dress well. Look at the people around you and you will know who are those who will succeed in life and who couldn't.

16) If your shops which is near a bus stop will do roaring business even though there was no fengshui audit. This is because the bus carries the "chi" to the shops. When the bus stops the "chi" accumulates and when the wind blows, it blows the chi to the neighbouring shops allowing their businesses to be plentiful. Look around Singapore and name some shops and you will know why. No one has ever written anything about this before because either it is a well kept secret or because most people don't know.

17) The front door of any terrace house, semi-detached houses and bungalows are usually taken as the "facing" of the unit.

18) The main doors of any homes is the mouth of the house. Whatever chi that comes in from that mouth should be of good "sheng chi".

19) To receive any good luck for the year of the rabbit, buy a "fu lu sho" statutes, smiling Buddhas or any beautiful lady figurines in your house. It would be better if they are made of bronze or metal. But they must be beautiful as beauty is good "sheng chi". And these "sheng chi" are to be used for the next 3 to 4 weeks only. After that, the "new" energies are gone.

20) If your house is experiencing any "bad" fortune, it might be necessary to try pasting six Singapore One Dollar coins on the wall above your main door (inside your house) to counteract the naughty "earth energies". Why the number six? Because the number six represents metal in fengshui.

21) If you place crystals in your bedroom and every night you have nightmares, then remove the crystals. These crystals can then be placed in the living room. But if after several weeks, you experience some bad fortune, then it is time to remove the crystals. This is a general rule unless you wish to engage a professional fengshui consultant to guide you where to place them.

22) It is best not to have any television sets in your bedrooms. However if you cannot get rid of that TV (because of habit), then after watching the TV program, cover it with a plastic table cloth to prevent the static energy from zapping at you when you sleep. This is the reason why even after 8 hours of good rest, you still feel very tired when you wake up the next morning, it is the because of that television set.

23) If you wish to buy a new flat or house without consulting any fengshui consultant, bring a "new born baby" there. If she crys, it means the house do not have good fengshui. If she smiles, that means that house has good fengshui.

24) The roof tops of houses should preferably be normal brown in colour and not any other colourful bright colours.

25) Do not paint the inside of your house yellow as yellow is the colour of earth and it can enhance the "sickness star" causing family members to fall sick. If you have this bright yellow on your walls, repaint it white.

26) If you wish to activate romance in your house, use fresh flowers and a beautiful vase of water and placed them in any part of your house. This can be done if you do not wish to seek a fengshui master. It is call a "trial and error" method. But no roses are to used as roses has thorns and can cause romance to have quarrels. When the petals fade, change the flower unless you wish to have a sour romance.

27) Fengshui can cure a haunted house, use rice and sandlewood incense. Also create more windows or doors in the house.

28) For this year 1999, the "annual naughty earth star" falls in the south sector of our homes, so buy a metal windchime and placed it there.

29) For couples wanting to have children, (if you do not wish to consult a fengshui master), try shifting your bed to another part of the room or hang metal windchimes in your bedroom to break the negative earth energies.

30) The Stock Market is expected to consolidate in September this year and go up in October. Bank shares will perform well and so will Metal and Water Industries. For more tips on the stock market, join "fengshui_destiny" mailing list.

31) The pots of soil and plants outside your living or bedroom windows (planters area) are bad for health. Please remove the potted plants.

32) Do not place swords in the living rooms as the sword is "shar chi" which can create disharmony in the homes.

33) The most important item is the first thing that people bring into their house first. That is why when shifting into your new flat, make sure you carry the most important item in first. And this is the reason why people bring in their Gods or Buddhas into the house then later the other furniture. If you do not worship, then bring your Safe Boxes (full of important certificates, gold jewellery, money etc) into the house first at the appointed day and time.

34) If you wish to hang metal windchimes (with 6 or 7 metal rods) in your house, a plain looking one without any animals or stars or moons are the best. Do not hang windchimes near trees or graves. It is perfectly alright if the windchimes are solid metal or hollow in the middle.

35) Windchimes do attract spirits if hang near graves or trees.

36) Never place a huge mirror beside a dinning table, thinking it will double your rice bowl. It doesn't work in this way.

37) A Taxi stand in front of a Shopping Centre is a good accumulation of chi. Hence those Shopping Malls like Centrepoint usually do well.

38) Choose a flat that is built in the period of seven (1984 to 2003). Generally the flats built in those years have good fengshui.

39) Choose a flat that is bright and feels comfortable.

40) Select one that is airy.

41) There should not be a staircase near the main door as chi when it flows to the living room will turn and go upstairs instead of the dinning room.

42) If you selecting a terrace house or a bungalow, there should not be a lamppost opposite your main door. If you have that, then the fengshui cure is not a Ba Gua but a metal or water feature to weaken the lamp post as lamp post is a fire element, hence metal and water will reduce the fire.

43) Check that there are no "poison arrows" pointing at your main door.

44) Make sure that there are no big trees opposite your main door either as this blocks the chi.

45) Do not buy terrace house or bungalow that has a swimming pool in the West. Choose one that has it in the East or South West.

46) Do not live near factories or near any electrical plants.

47) There should be no "wall" opposite your main door.

48) Always sleep with a bed that has plenty of space beneath to allow chi to circulate underneath the bed when you are sleeping so that you do not end up with a backache or simply feeling tired after waking up in the morning.

49) If you live in HDB flats and there is a rectangular hole in front of your house, please cover it. The reason is the wind that blows from this hole into your house is sharp and piercing causing "shar chi" (negative energy) instead of just wind alone. Therefore you will not have good luck staying in a house like this if you did not cover it.

50) Do not buy any red sofa sets unless advised by a Fengshui Consultant.
